Welland Valley K9 Club

No dog may be wearing a check chain during any club activity.

No Bitches in heat at any training sessions

All handlers must follow instructions from the trainers or club officers as this is vital to successful training, enjoyment for the dog, and the safety of all handlers and their dogs.

Dogs may only be off lead as instructed by the club trainers.

All dogs and handlers are different, therefore handlers are asked to be considerate of these differences.

If asked to leave the training area, the handler and dog must do so immediately.

All dog deposits must be cleaned up and removed at the end of the session by the owner / handler.

Dogs 12 months of age or over

Younger dogs can do a little of the equipment but it is the socialisation that is beneficial

Plain Flat collars (NO check/curb chains )

A combination of collar and harness can be used to good effect

NO Halties or Head Collars to be used during training sessions

A long lead is recommended but not essential however extending leads are more of a hindrance than a help

Food rewards and a favourite toy are useful aids to training as we use reward based training

A firm loud voice is acceptable when there may be occasion to chastise your dog. However no smacking please!!

Young dog owners/handlers are very welcome

Pooh bags are required (Please ensure you take it home for disposal)

We, as trainers, do not know all the answers but we do allow dogs that have behavioural problems to participate under strict supervision. The trainer will endeavour to help with problems

However the safety of the Trainers, dogs and other handlers is paramount and we reserve the right to ask you, very reluctantly, to leave.
